Upgrading the existing EU building stock is increasingly pressing. While buildings are responsible for 40% of EU energy consumption, their poor seismic performance during earthquakes has led to significant human and economic losses.
This side event within the 18th European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) will present the pilot project "Integrated techniques for the seismic strengthening and energy efficiency of existing buildings". The project aims to support initiatives under the European Green Deal (e.g. Renovation Wave) and make EU regions safe and resilient.
